I get that Reality Bites as a studio picture and all, but why does not one ever talk about Slacker? If there’s anything that defines the commodification of Gen X or the morphing of hipster into a easily comestible consumer product, it is the continued substitution of Slacker with Reality Bites as ur-text of slack.
